FAQ

Questions? You’re in the right place!

Yes, we do occasionally have sales, but the absolute best deals are on new designs which are on sale for the first 72 hours, so check back often as we add new designs daily!

If you are seeing our shirts on Chinese dot com sites for a few dollars, rest assured that these are NOT our shirts – just our stolen designs. These scammers take low-res copies of our original artwork and produce terrible knock offs on off brand, often factory second tees.

Customers who have ordered these are less than thrilled with the blurry prints on misshapen tees. When you buy from us, you get our original high resolution artwork printed in America on high quality brand name garments and if there is an issue, we will actually help you out… good luck getting that from an overseas knock off website!

We print our garments to order, so it can take five to ten days on the high side from the time you place an order to when it ships, but on average, we get most orders out in just a few days. We allow the extra time in our stated production times to allow for stock issues or seasonal volumes, but rest assured that we try to get every order out as quickly as possible.

Yes! We provide a tracking number with every order we ship. You will receive a ‘your order has shipped’ email that will include this information, along with a clickable link to view the shipment’s progress.

The short answer? We don’t know. The long answer? Shippers have gotten a little wacky lately and sometimes shipments move without getting updated. Likewise, orders may sit in a facility for a day or two until being moved with other shipments. It drives us crazy too, but once an order leaves our hands, we can’t do anything about how the shippers do their thing.

Of course! Sometimes shipments can lose their way in transit, and if your order doesn’t make it to your delivery address, please let us know! Simply reply to your order confirmation email, and we will check it out. If it’s been ten business days since your order shipped, we will send a replacement, so no worries!

If tracking shows that your order was delivered, then it’s safe to say that it was, as carriers don’t make a habit of faking deliveries, as it’s bad for business. Please check with other residents in your home, property managers, and neighbors to see if they may have picked it up, brought it inside, or received it by mistake. Please note that we can’t be responsible for shipments that go missing after delivery is made, so choose a delivery address where you can reliably receive packages.

Not sure what size is your best fit? We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat, and measuring it. The measurements in the charts on each respective shirt’s product page are taken with the shirt lying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1 inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size 😎

For years, we screen printed all of our shirts, and not to toot our own horn too much, but we were masters of it and capable of doing some pretty amazing things when it came to creating our vintage-inspired, distressed designs. This, however, always had its limitations, and as Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing started to come about, we watched it with a keen eye until the technology finally hit its stride and had our full attention. So no, we no longer screen print anything, even for custom orders, as we’ve fully embraced DTG and aren’t looking back.

Direct-to-garment, or DTG, is a printing method that sprays the ink onto the garment. The ink then soaks into the fibers of the garment. It’s like printing on paper, but on clothing. DTG is a more sustainable process than screen printing, primarily because printing on demand allows businesses to avoid overproduction and textile waste, and with 92 million tons of textile going to waste in the fashion industry each year, DTG can make a HUGE impact. Secondly, DTG printing uses considerably less water and chemicals in the printing process. Even the inks themselves are water-based and far safer for the environment than commercial screenprinting inks.

Modern direct-to-garment, or DTG printing, has allowed us to go from making pretty cool distressed designs through screen printing to making highly detailed, over-the-top vintage designs that are truly wearable works of art. All of our designs are printed on state-of-the-art Kornit DTG printers that can take whatever we throw at them, no matter how ridiculously detailed, and make it a reality, and THAT is why we chose DTG over screen printing.

Specific shirt details are included on every product page, but here’s a quick overview. Men’s/unisex shirts are printed on Bella+Canvas 3001 tees, women’s are run on Next Level 3900 tees, and kids are printed on Gildan 5000b tees. After countless test runs, samples, and wear and tear tests, we counted these among the best fitting, softest feeling, and longest wearing tees on the market, but more about that below.

We totally get that you may have a favorite shirt from another brand, but not all shirts are created equally, and this is especially true when it comes to high-end DTG printing. It takes a considerable amount of time working with manufacturers and printers to find that sweet spot that results in a high-quality printed garment, so this won’t ever be an option, and anyone who says that they’ll do it is prepared to give you a mediocre product.

DTG printed garments can sometimes have a slight, distinct odor, which is a by-product of the printing process. While most of the time, any residual production smell is gone before it arrives, if it was printed and packed quicker than usual, it may not have had time to air out.

The scent comes from a fixation agent (also called pre-treatment) that’s applied before printing. This solution helps the ink properly bond with the fabric—without it, the print wouldn’t last as well and could start flaking over time.

Rest assured, this is not something that you should be worried about – this is a normal occurrence in the DTG printing industry, and the smell will disappear completely after one wash. See our simple washing instructions below!

There honestly isn’t much to taking care of Direct to Garment (DTG) printed t-shirts, but like any garment, if you want them to last longer than not, there are a few tips.

The first thing people might get wrong is following the instructions on the t-shirt’s care tag. While it may be fine for the blank shirt, you have to keep in mind that the original manufacturer’s care instructions don’t take into consideration the DTG print that goes on top of the garment.

TL;DR: DTG printed apparel should be turned inside-out, machine-washed in cold water, meaning below 90℉ or 30℃, on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent without any fabric softener or bleach. See, easy peazy!

What is considered a mild detergent? A mild detergent is a gentle cleaning solution that contains only surface-active agents.  All Free Clear and Tide Free & Gentle are common examples of mild detergents. More intense detergents often contain enzymes or abrasives that can damage the print on a t-shirt.

Tumble-drying on hot and ironing can be detrimental to the lifecycle of the print. DTG-printed apparel can be tumble-dried on a low cycle, but hang-drying is also an option. If you must iron, make sure you use a cool iron inside-out to avoid damaging the print.

On a related note, we overprint our shirts to get the unique vintage look that we’re known for, and the first wash may show some slight fading, but this is totally normal and part of the process to get the right look!

All garments experience some shrinkage, even premium quality pre-shrunk shirts like ours. Just like most natural materials, it can shrink when subjected to high temperatures, so when washing a cotton shirt, use cold water and avoid adding too much detergent, as doing so can affect the wear and tear of the material.
